PCP not happy with nutritionist's notes?!?

Okay...   My insurance coordinator has already stated I have everything turned in and ready except  for the letter of support and 12 months of diet documentation from my PCP.  Here is the problem.   My PCP will not turn this over to my insurance coordinator until he receives notes from a nutritionist.  Now mind you this is not a requirement from my insurance company.  The PCP is the one who advised me to see a dietician or nutritionist when this all began a year ago and even referred me to one.  This particular one did not accept my insurance and I could not afford her so I saw a nutritionist at my local gym who asked me to keep a food diary, weighed and measured me, and gave me useful excercise and eating tips when I was seen monthly.  This is NOTHING different from what my PCP did.  The nutritionist sent over my food logs and weights and measurements by date along with a letter to the PCP.  I called to see what the hold up was and his staff advised me he needed the nutritionists "documents".  What documents?  My nutritionist is like "Whaaa?".  Of course it is hard getting a hold of him and his office staff knows about as much about it as my mail carrier.  Any one else go through this and know whats up?  Is there a special medical format he is looking for?  How did your nutritionist or dietician document and submit?

With all of my medicals and PCP letter my insurance required I picked them up and delivered them to where they needed to be. That way no one could tell me they didn't get it. You may want to see if the nut will give you copies and deliver them to your PCP.

And if there is something else he wants he can tell you then.

Thanks for the rec.  Only the office did get the information.  The problem is the information was not sufficient for my PCP.  I'm not sure if he assumed the nutritionist would do something different from what he did or what.  It was kind of pointless to send my to a nutritionist when the same exact information was documented.  The only difference was my PCP prescribed weight loss pills.

Well... only other thing I know of is, when I went to my seminar for my Dr they said if you dont have a PCP that can write your letter get one from you OB/GYN or they have a dr they can refer you to see and he would write one on you behalf after examining you. Check with the surgery Dr and see if they have another suggestion.

Hope you get what you need soon.
