I'm new here and I have a question about financing.

My insurance does not cover WLS, so it looks like I'm going to have to self-pay.  Has anyone has any success getting financing lately with the economy in its current state?

I applied and was approved by Care Credit the interest rate is high if not paid by the agreed upon date. But I only am using Care Credit for half of my surgery I am using savings for the other part.

It will be tough but I consider it the best investment possible.
You simply cannot be beaten if, at the end of the day, some tiny part of you can still whisper: "I will try again tomorrow"

Thanks for your reply.  My surgeon recommended surgeryloan.com.  I called them and asked about the probability of getting approved for a loan and they pretty much said that it was not likely, that there would be more of a chance 6 months from now when the companies start getting more credit to give out.  I haven't accepted that as a final answer yet .

I recently got a loan from capital one healthcare finance for a different medical procedure (WLS is covered by insurance for me, thank goodness).  It did have a high interest rate, but only if I didn't pay it off in 24 months.  No problem getting approved at all and that was within the last 90 days.

Don't forget to check with your local banks or credit unions.  Our local credit union has a 9% unsecured loan you can get.  Their credit card interest is also quite low.

Good luck!
