oh the waiting....

My information was sent to Aetna on March 3rd.  Aetna, I have to say, has been wonderful in answering my questions, providing info, etc.  The surgeon's office on the other hand....

Aetna is waiting on missing information which I have called the insurance coordinator at the surgeon's office AGAIN to provide. I did my three month supervised diet through the doctor at the surgeon's office so it would meet the criteria and they'd have all the information right there in the file and that is what hasn't been sent to Aetna.  I wish now I had done it through my PCP because then at least I would have copies I could fax myself. 

Oh how frusterating! I have Aetna too and also did the 3 month plan. My stuff was submitted on a Wed. and I got the call from the surgeon's office to say I was approved on the next Tuesday. So it didn't even take a week, and that included a weekend. Hopefully once they get all your info they won't take long to approve you.

I know your pain

My packet was also sent into BCBS-NJ on 2/26/09 and verified recieved on 3/1/09 and have heard nothing back as of yet.   I was told to be patient that it could take upto 6-8 weeks.

I'm glad that you've had decent encounters with Aetna, because I hung up on them the last time I called them.  I posted the other day about question I had and I think I know the answer, so I called them to make sure I was right and the woman I talked to said well it's not very specific so I would assume that by 2 yrs. they mean 24 months. If I wanted to assume I knew the answer I never would have called in the first place! It seems like every time I have a question and I call them I know just as much about the policy as they do just from reading it. AAArrrggghh!!! Okay I'm done now. But I am glad you have had better experiences with them than I have. Best of luck
