PreOps Check In

How did this week go for you? Anything New? What are you looking forward to next week. I saw one preop already got approved anyone else in the waiting line? I technically am. My Surgeon and Benefits Coordinator believe I have all my info so they will be submitting my stuff to insurance. Crossing my fingers! 

I went to see my surgeon yesterday to go over my pre-op tests and schedule surgery. I am having my laproscopic RNY on Monday the 23rd!!!!! I am so excited and nervous too. I am a little overwhelmed - trying to think of everything I need to get ready.

Oh yeah - forgot to say - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too!!!

i had my last behaviorist appointment yesterday, she cleared me (yay!!!) however... she wants me to get a note from my pcp saying i dont have sleep apnea (i put it on the list of concerns because my husband is convinced i have it) and a note saying my hearthburn is taken care of (i went through a phase where it was bad, but it hasnt been lately...)
my only concern is the sleep apnea, if my dr insists i have to have a sleep study and i dont even know what that entails, the behaviorist said it will drastically increase the time i will have to wait for surgery however its an almost perfect guarantee insurance wont give me any crap. however if i find a way to get my pcp to write a note then i dont have to have the study and can proceed with surgery and still most likely my insurance will cover it, they said they do im just nervous they'll change their minds... so i dont know what to do!

I'm still waiting.  BCBS of New Jersey is taking for.ev.er.   My info was received on 3/3.  I called today and it's still in process.  She told me it takes 30-45 days.  Good Lord, I know people with this insurance that got approval in less than 10 days.

Greetings all I have been on a roller coster rider through out this process. Well it all started I selected Dr. Felix Speigel for the lapband surgery. I have submitted all requred documents. Well my sister had the RNY and she then went on to explain how if I may have had a complication that I will have to see the actual surgern. So I choose a local doctor and I went in and say the Dr. I signed a medical release for Dr. Speigel to release all information recieved. The new dr called and said that have not yet recieved any thing yet and asked if i could place a call to them, I did and she went on to say that she could not give me any of my information I was extremely up set so i have to run around town and try to remember what DR that I have seen in the past 5 years for my weigth history. So any way I have finally finished collecting that info. I had my psyc. eval and did my 6month diet. so I will go back to see what else may thay may need and submit for approval.

I am waiting for my second appeal hearing,telephonically,scheduled for May 5. I am using obesitylaw.com,the lindstroms',as my advocate.There is an exclusion to WLS on my BCBSTN policy. I am in limbo rright now but not giving up. Good luck to all of you and hang in there!

My info was submitted to Aetna 3/3.  Missing info was faxed 3/13 and just today they confirmed that they now have the missing info in their system.  Hopefully the status will now change from "pending" to "under review". 

I'm borderline for approval so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

I scheduled my psych eval for  the 30th, my (hopefully last) consult is for the 31st, and I'm beginning the "cutting out pop, increasing walking/exercise" routine.

I probably will end up having to make an appointment for an EKG and I think the surgeon wants an overall physical, but I'll find that out on the 31st. So I'm just kind of waiting for those two appts. to be over, so I have my next tasks to check off before the surgeon approves it (I have the lovely BCBS MI PPO which won't pre-authorize or anything so it'll be the surgeon saying I meet all their criteria).

I am still in shock, but I found out today I was approved!! Even though the Dr's office thought I wouldnt be. I am so excited!!



Only problem is I have to have a consult with my Dr and cant get in until April 30th!! UGH!
