PreOps Check In!

Hey There all you pre-ops just wanted to see how we are all doing? How are things going? Where are you at? Updates People, I know there are few of us on here.   As for me I just completed the Psych Eval, my 2^nd PCP supervised diet info, and then I called my obgyn from back in 2005 b/c I know I had monthly weigh ins and they medically requested me to be on a professional supervised WW diet! So I had 11 consecutive months of that put into a letter, picked up the letter today during my lunch, faxed it the surgeons office, received a call about 25 minutes later from the surgeons nurse and she said everything looked good and that is exactly what they needed. After the Surgeon consultation on the 18^th they will most likely submit everything to insurance. OMG! I am freaking out could this really be happening? I am so not trying to get my hopes up but still how can you not??? I am still pre-tending that I need to do the 6 month supervised diet. So I am 33.3% of the way complete only 4 more visits to go!

I had my psych eval on this past Monday and today I got word that they sent everything to my ins. So the wait begins

I am pretty sure it will be denied because the medicals I could get my BMI was within the 35-39.9 range but I wasnt diagnosed with any co-morbids yet. But I am holding hope.

My Dr. submitted to the insurance last Friday. So I am now waiting. They said it usually takes 15 days for BCBS of TN to make a decision. I hate waiting. I just pray I will be approved the first time.

My info was received by insurance on 3/3.  I'm waiting patiently. . . NOT.    

I'm holding out until Friday then I'm calling again!     

I'm fighting my BCBSTN exclusion with the help of www.obesitylaw.com. We will be having second appeal telephonically on May 5.

My surgery is March 27! I have jumped through all the hoops required and got a pretty speedy approval from Aetna (though my entire process was drawn out since I didn't START with Aetna and had to change and blah blah blah, but it's done now!).

My original surgery date was March 19, but I got bumped due to a scheduling issue with the surgeon. The 27th cannot come quickly enough!!

Hello all!!!  We submitted my paperwork to Aetna last Thursday, Mar 5.  I called to day and it is still under review.  I AM GOING CRAZY!!!  My surgery is scheduled for March 23..only 11 days!!  I go next week to meet witht the anestesiolgist and respitory at the hospital.  I am so excited.  The 23rd is the beginning of my new life...I cant wait.  Hoping, Praying, BELIEVING that I will get my approval call soon.

My paperwork went to Aetna on March 3rd. Aetna requested additional information from my surgeon' s office and the insurance coordinator has done NOTHING to get them that info so the file is not being reviewed yet. I left a message again this morning and have gotten no response.   While it is frustrating, I'm glad Aetna called and told them something was missing rather than just denying me.
I'm trying to prepare myself emotionally to be denied since two years ago, my BMI was 39.9 (I don't have any co-morbidities).  It seems hard to believe they would deny me based on how heavy of shoes I wore to my PCP back in 2007 but seeing how insurance companies are, I'm worried.

 I too am completely frustrated!!!  I called Aetna this afternoon and they said they were waiting on one more peice of clinical information from the Dr's office.  So I called the Dr's office and they said they havent heard anything yet it should be real soon.  I am GOING NUTS!!!
