xp - Post-op insurance problems part 3

For those of you following my post op insurance woes...here's the latest...

Nothing is resolved yet.  Although HR is supposed to update me tomorrow on their progress dealing with United Health Care (and I told the doctor's office this last week), the dr's office still called me on Friday to see if I had taken care of the bill (yeah, in 10 days when they couldn't get anything done for over 4 months!).  I reminded them that I wouldn't have any information until Tuesday.  So what did they do?  They sent me the bill ... for $40,662.00...which I received today.

Yeah, like they are gonna see a dime of that any time soon from me!
I am so fed up with the harrassment from my doctor's office and my doctor's attitude about this more than anything.  I am seriously considering not going to my 6 month post-op appointment and seeing my endocrinologist and PCP instead.  All the WLS doc is going to do is order blood tests (and not nearly as many as my endocriniogist would order anyhow) and tell me what supplements to take (and often times I get better info on OH or from my endo for that too!  For example I was told to take 2 tums for the rest of my life for calcium...and we know how incorrect THAT is!!!).  So if I have no complications, why bother with the stress of seeing them and dealing with their b.s.?????????

Can you tell I am p.o.'d???  And this is MILD!

Here is a prior post for those of you who are interested in what's been going on:

My love my love I was just going to email you asking about the change in avatar I guess this answers it.  I really think if you have a good lawyer you could fight this.  I mean fight it.  THere's no way they can stick you with 40,000 if so pay them 5.00 a month so it can't hit your credit report...

PM me if you every really wanna vent

I vote don't see your surgeon for followup if you can get good care from you other docs. They'll just want to add to that rediculous amount. Just courious if they have a self pay amount? No way would that be over 40,000.

Have you checked our www.obesityhelp.com ?? They may be worth it to fix this.

not sure which website you are sending me to...this is www.obesityhelp.com.  Did you mean another site?

And thanks for your vote...I'm with you!  Especially after I was called by them today and was told I am being sent to collections (but the dr. still got on the phone and insisted I "need" him and must come to my appointment)!
