APPROVED BCBS OF IL!!!

Hi Everyone... Just had to share that I just got the call that I am approved for my Realize Band!  I am soooo excited.  It took BCBS less than a week!  I am going in for surgery on March 2nd.  I truly believe that the reason I was approved, was because 1.  I was on a PCP supervised diet for 6 months, plus a "wrap-up" visit at the end of my six months 2.  My Dr's notes were very well written and detailed.  3. I actually submitted my paperwork to BCBS after only 5 months, knowing there would be a denial. I did that because they then sent me a letter of what I was missing for them and that gave me the next month to get my paper work in order and resubmit.  So technically I was denied the first time.  Then all I needed was my last appointment and a follow up.  Hope that helps some of you out!  Good Luck.

My experience with BCBS of IL was about the same.... had to be denied the first time, so we submitted at 5 months... seems to be a pattern.
