Need help with UHC PPO and IL insurance

I just completed my pre op stuff.. I called my coordinator(Central Dupage Hospital-Renee) and she said that she will call me next week and let me know that the dr have signed off on it and she will then submit it to insurance. The one hospital I see in my area that is on that COE list in UHC is chicago loyola..  So now I am just playing the waiting game

I hope that you get an approval .  Please keep us informed.  I am especially interested since I have the same type of Health insurance policy and then followed your steps in your post and found facilities in net work that are really close to me.  I may have to change surgeons but that is not a problem really.  I will if i have to .    again GOOD LUCK an keep us posted.

Hi Lori,

Here is an update. I received a call on 4/7/09  from the coordinator that they are sending my files over to the dr for review.  I received a call today 4/8/09 from the doctors office that they are submitting my records for approval, she asked me if the insurance co. said that I needed a 6 month diet history, I told her no! since this is what I was told when I called my insurance co on 1/27/09 to ask what the requirements were. The doctors office called me back with a tenative surgery date of May 28th 2009( woo hoo), but I won't get to excited yet. She gave me a date to call the utilization management to check on the status of my submission. (it is in the Lords hands now) sooo. when I get approved, I have to make an appt 2 weeks prior to surgery with the surgeon and also with my primary to get a full history and physical. I will have to then call the coordinator letting her know I was approved, I will then receive further instructions regarding the 2week diet that you have to do prior to surgery...

Pray for me..

Ill tell you. I will be 36 this friday 4/10 and from how it was explained to me, it seems to move pretty quickly after that..

  Happy Early Birthday .  Thank you for the update I appreciate it very much.
Sounds like all things are going well for you and soon will be taking your place on the loosers bench.  Your tenative surgery date is my youngest brothers birthday.  Ironically me, my son, and my two brothers all have birthdays with in a three week period.
Starting with my son on May 22 and my oldest brother ending on June 9. 

I will pray for you and angels will surround you.
