TRICARE approved ME

Congrats. I have Tricare Standard and am scheduled to see my surgeon next Monday. I will be taking your lead and documenting everything. I would love, love, love, a fast surgery date. I am an annual March of Dimes walker, regardless of pain and the walk in my area is scheduled for April. With any luck, I will be there, post-op, to walk for my grandson.

I too am praying: that I get approved, and that your surgery and recovery is as uneventful as possible.

how long did it take for everyone to get approved thru tricare? i just  spoke with my pcm's nurse today to get the ball rolling with tricare. i was told to call back in a couple days to make sure it was actually done, but that i should recieve a phone call or a letter from tricare. any advice?

I am just now starting my journey with tricare, I went to the doctor and got the referral from my PCM, my letter from tricare came within 1 week. I called to schedule the appt with the surgeon which was about 3 weeks from the date I recvd my letter. In the mean time I called the surgeons office to see what I could do to expedite the process and was told that if I could round up 5 years worth of medical records plus complete my bariatric psych eval that would help get the ball rolling. I called tricare got a list of psychologists that did bariatric evals and amazingly enough I got my appointment 2 days later.  I had a little difficulty obtaining my medical records as they had not arrived yet from Germany so I kept making phone calls and the day they arrived the correspondance office made the copies for me so now I am just waiting to see the surgeon to see what further he needs from me. I guess in some cases he needs a sleep study and a cardiac workup, I had a cardiac workup like 3 years ago so I hope that suffices but beyond that I am not sure, what did everyone else end up having to have to get the approval from tricare????
