Aetna 3 Month Requirements - Would this suffice?

I've decided to do the 3 month multidisciplinary program for Aetna approval.  Will me visiting my gynocologist for my monthly weigh-ins and utlizing her to write my before and after letter for this program be acceptable?  Or, do I have to go to an internist/pcp?  I'm thinking it shouldn't matter, but am curious to know.  Also, I've found a 12 week  weight management program that is led by a Registered Dietitian, Exercise Physiologist & Behavior Therapist. Would visiting my doctor monthly over this period of time suffice?

Thanks everyone in advance for your response.

I would go with the 12-week program--that's the kind of thing they are looking for for the 3-month requirement. Visiting any type of doctor once a month isn't going to cut it for the 3-month multidisciplinary program--you'd have to do 6 months of that instead.

Let me clarify. I will be seeing a doctor during the 12 week program, but wanted to know if my GYN should be my doctor of choice.  She's on board with the WLS.  Or do I have to see my internist. Does Aetna even care about the doctor's practice of choice.

Okay, I think I gotcha now. I don't believe it matters as long as you are seeing a physician during the program.
