Most insurance plans have the stupid 6-month diet. Be happy--some even have a 12-month diet! And some don't cover WLS no matter how much dieting you do!

I have Highmark BCBS Penn. PPO and I was denied in November. But I am appealing it.

I have BCBS PPO and they required the 6month supervised diet. It's not as bad as it sounds. Six months come and go. Advice: If they told you they require the six month supervised diet. Just go with it...at least you are doing exactly what they are recommend. You run a better chance of not getting denied. I took this time to meet others on the OH boards, research surgeons and the different options for wls and also attend seminars/information sessions. I am now going on my fifth month.

Note: 6 consecutive months of supervised diet.

Good luck:)
