CONGRATS!!   so it took Aetna 3 weeks to give you an answer??  I have Aetna and I'm submitting my paperwork tomorrow and I'm trying to fit in the surgery before the end of the year because my insurance is changing.   I have a tentative surgery date of 12/16 hoping they will come back wiht an approval by then.  do you have the HMO or PPO?

For the two of you that were approved by Aetna....was the approval after the 3 month or 6 month supervised diet and exercise program?

I'm going for my consult appointment on the 18th and was wondering how the process works.  Do you submit a request during the supervised program or is it necessary to wait until done with the program?

Thanks for your answer and the best of luck to the both of you!

Hi - I have Aetna and and working on the 3 month multidisciplinary program.  I was denied b/c my paperwork was turned in too soon, but did find out, it has to be 90 days from start date.  If it is any sooner, it will be denied.  so my 3 months (90 days) will be up 1/12 and I plan on submitting for approval then!  I'm saying my prayers!

I plan on submiting letters from the dietician I have seen, the physical trainer, and my PCP.  I hope this is enough, along with my medical history and records of my PCP who has been documenting this past three months.
