Should I include my pictures/own letter with submission to insurance

Hi. I have all my ducks in a row and all my paperwork ready for my surgeon's office to submit it to Cigna PPO. My question is would it be of any benefit to include pictures of myself going up and down in weight through the years and perhaps a letter about my situation? It just sucks that we are just a pile of faceless papers and I thought maybe personalizing a bit would be helpful. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I've only heard of pictures being submitted in cases where the person did not have weight history documentation to comply with the 5 years weight history requested from some insurers.

I don't believe submitting pictures just to make it more personal would benefit you.  Insurers will solely approve you based on your medical facts.  IAlso, you never now what is peoples's opinion of "how fat" you really look like.  For instance, by looking at your avatar, I find you look "voluptuos", not  "morbid".

Bottom line, just give them what they're asking and you'll be just fine and dandy!

Good luck to you!  I was a nerve wreck about being approved, and it turned out to be much easier than I thought.  Of course I submitted absolutely everything they asked. I had United Healthcare, and they gave me an approval within 24 hours.

Voluptuous--I love that!! I see your point. I have all my ducks in a row with dotted i's and crossed t's, so hopefully it will go well. I just hate worrying about how nitpicky they can be like if the office notes from the 6 month diet history has anything else on it other than weight it being a problem, etc., etc. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks for your input. I think I'll just go with the requested info and take it from there.

Take care,

Denise
