BCBS MI PPO and Weigh****chers online
What my nutritionist did was document what i was eating, my excersize and what my plans were for the next month. Of coarse I gained about 5 pounds a month! lol. But then after you all done she faxes your six months of progress to your surgeon. When you done with all your testing they send it to the insurance!
I'm seeing the nutritionist for my BCBS 6 month diet. I wanted to make sure I covered all my bases so I opted to meet with someone face to face to record my progress.
In addition, I'm also seeing my pcp monthly to have the physician notes for insurance as well. Probably not necessary, but I'm doing it anyway. Two and a half months to go.

Hello! I have BCBS IL and had to do the 6 month supervised diet too. They required it to be Dr supervised, so I met with my primary dr every month, for 6 visits. In addition, I did Weigh****chers online, but I defintely think it is absolutely critical you have the regular visits with your Dr. Good luck to you!

Do not believe everything the insurance reps tell you. They tell you one thing and deny they ever said it later on. Do as others have said and make sure that you do a medically supervised diet. Start seeing your PCP monthly, every month, do not miss a month. You need to make sure that your PCP documents that you are doing weigh****chers online (maybe you can print out a copy of your progress every month and take it in with you), you need to tell him/ her that you are exercising everyday (how much/ how often), the more documentation the better. You can continue doing WW online if you like. Btw make sure that you get the name of everyone, from your insurance, doctors' office wherever and keep a log of dates and times of calls and conversations of what they said to you. This will all come in handy if you ever have to appeal.
