in-network question- please advise
I have BC/BS of Tenn. There is NO bariatric surgeons in-network, so I filled out an in-network request form & sent it to them. I called & was told that it was approved. So this means they will pay the MD at in-network price right? What about the hospital he does the surgery at, will it pay in-network there too? I did list the hospital on the form when I sent it in. Any thoughts?

You really need to check with your insurance be sure your on the same page. It is possible that the hospital is in-network even if your surgeon is not. You might be able to check that online or ask your insurance or ask the hospital. Don't assume anything or you may end up with a big unexpected bill. Ask exactly how much they will pay for the services and make sure your surgeon knows.
