Do whatever you need to do to get the procedure that is right for YOU. Don't get something just because insurance bullies you into it if it's not what you really need/want--that can definitely end up backfiring!
Thanks for replying guys,It is true that I should do what best works for me. I guess i should do more research on the gastric bypass because I was all set on the vs. Well regardless of which i already made the appointment with my primary care for next week to get the ball rolling on the 6 month issue, just incase I decide to stay with them. so lets see what happens.. I just wanted the VS because it seemed less risky. well let me start my research

Research is the best thing you can do for yourself. Don't forget to research the Duodenal Switch. Spend a couple weeks on each forum and decide what is best for you. I went from Gastric Banding to VSG to DS and am 100% sure the DS will work best for me.
Edited to add: The DS is more likely to be covered by insurance since it is now covered by Medicare. The VSG is still considered experimental.
Good luck.
