BCBS of CA....how long for response?

My docotor submitted paperwork to BCBS of CA on Friday, 9/26. Can anyone else with the same insurance tell me how long before I hear something? I would like to call the insurance company but not sure what department would know if they received paperwork.

I received my answer (a denial :( ....) a day after my doctor submitted it.  I'm in the process of appealing now.  Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear you were denied. Did they give you a reason? Best of luck with the appeal.

It can be up to 30 to 60 days but usually doesnt take that long, your only looking at a week now but you can call them everyday to check status

After calling the insurance company, I found out the doctor did not send the paperwor****il 9/30 and was told to allow 5 business days. I've been calling every other day to get an update and so far no one has reviewed my file.

Keep calling and be persistent  and dont give up

 I have BCBS-ppo and it is a self funded plan. They said WLS is not covered. Is yours self funded through work? I am just wondering what steps I need to take.
