Calling insurance
Anchorage Alaska- lost my true LOVE in Alaska. I lived there for 2 years over by the Diamond mall. Great Country beats the hell out of the lower 48.
saletiajohnsonllmnctf1m,
I'm in the same situation you are, my papers were submitted on the 25Th of this month. I'm going to start calling the insurance company on Mon. The more pressure the better. I heard of a lady that called everyday. She was granted surgery after 10 days. We live in a society were we must know every detail of our benefits or we loose out. Start bugging

I would start calling immediately--the first call can just be verifying that they received your information. I've seen on here multiple times where insurance just shrugs and says they never got the paperwork. I would start calling the day after the doc submitted to make sure they received the paperwork. If so, then follow up with, "About how long do you think it will be before a decision is made?" is your sweetest, most inncoent and angelic tone. Continue such tone every single day until you get an answer
My surgeon's office heard back from the insurance company within 2 days to ask for one additional bit of info and then the next day with approval. I have BCBS FEP and went through BCBS of Florida.
I used to work for an insurance and I would suggest you not call to check for a couple of days at a minimum. Reason is that even if everything is faxed, many insurance companies still send everything through a mail room and scan the documentation into their system. That in itself can take a day or two.
