Help in California

So My friend in California (who cannot log herself on-technical difficulties) has this question
'How long after all required bariatric surgery medical clearances & requirments have been completed and sent to your insurance provider (blue sheild) did u have 2 wait for the surgery approval (or denial)?'  Thanks.

It all depends on the insurance company...I've talked to people that heard back the same day! My chart was submitted to BCBS of CA on Friday but no news yet.

 I believe that insurance has 30 days from the day they receive the request to give you an answer. Have your friend call everyday and bug them about where they are in the approval process. Sometimes bugging them helps things move along.
