WLS was predetermined 6/08 ~dropped WLS as of 9/2
I am really upset...I have UHC and called 5 times in June 08 to find out coverage,
My surgeons office called for pre-determination rec'd that
I went through the program ( my surgeon wanted 3 months)
We went for insurance approval and they denied this because we have no coverage. Policy was revised as of 9/2/08 my husband works for Fiserv/checkfree it is not a small comapny.
Can they drop a benefit in the middle of a plan year. I used to work for Aetna and I know this is big expense added on and if this were the case wouldn't our amount change in what we had to pay as an employee.
I have a feeling it is a lost cause. UHC admitted that they gave me coverage in 6/08 and 7/08 and had coverage but now the changed the policy to exclude that.
Guess I am always meant to be this way :(

Don't despair! I have been trying to have RNY for 5 years now, and Me and my hubby have had several different jobs, and I got denied because of exclusions with 3 different jobs/insurances. My hubby works at Cracker Barrel now, and we have UHC. They have denied me twice, and I am on my last appeal. They are saying I shold know something by next week. Im not holding my breath though. Something always seems to happen, to where I wont be approved or something. Maybe you could try a new insurance if you ever change jobs. Don't give up, just keep praying and working at it, no matter how long it takes! Amanda
