insurance for complications for self-payers

Hi - does anyone have information regarding obtaining some kind of insurance to cover any complications from the RNY?  I will be self pay and I can cover the actual surgery but am afraid of enormous hospital bills should any complications occur.  I am aware of the BLIS program but it looks as if they only cover their 'certified' surgeons, none of which are located anywhere near me so this option is out.  Any help???

Hello - The only option that I know of for complication protection for self-pay patients that is out in the maket right now is BLIS. I know you mentioned you had done some research and weren't able to find a BLIS surgeon in your area. I recommend that you send an email to  [email protected] and request one in your area.
