No Bariatric Rider on Insurance

I have Anthem KeyCare 20 PP0. Which had the morbid obesity rider on it until a month ago do to my great place of employment. They decided ti drop it-which was dumb of them because they all knew that i was going to have this surgery done but, negelected to tell me or even say a word about it. So, now my one on one consult w/dr. terracina at weight loss surgery center has been post poned. How do i get the insurance company to pay for this surgery and who do i need to go to and to approach. I am 336pounds just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, have a hernia in my abdominal wall that looks like i am about 8 months pregnant, i have joint pain in my knees so bad,  i have had polycystic ovarian syndrome which i just found out is weight related, tension headaches. Please anybody out there and everybody. Please help me i just want to lose weight so bad. I have been overweight since about age of 10 do to medicine for seizures. I just want to be able to run and play with my 2 little boy's. I am wanting to have the lapband done so, if there is anyone out there that could help me? Please don't hold back.

I'm not an insurance expert or anything but did you get your approval yet from the insurance before the coverage changed? If you did get approval I would think they would need to honor it. If you didn't I wish I could tell you where to start. I'll keep my eyes and ears open.

Are you saying that open season just passed and you are on a new contract? Because by law they cannot change the contract until it expires.

Sounds like you are going to have to take you fight to the HR department, not Anthem. They are the ones who decided to let you die to save some pennies (that's what I'd tell them). Yeah, I don't mince words. Ok, maybe you should be more professional about it but I'd hit the roof.
