I'm new around here if you can't tell! I have a consultation tomorrow regarding the Lap-Band and I'm starting to get excited. My husband's insurance is suppossed to cover it if I meet the criteria. He has Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee. Is anyone familiar with this insurance and are they difficult?

I don't have it, but I do understand it does cover WLS.

As a newbie, I do hope you will take the time to read up on all the available surgeries, not just lap band. We have so many lap banders on our DS board that ended up having a revision to DS because of failure, band slippage, erosion, low weight loss, etc, that I really implore you to do your own research, go to each board, ask them why they had the surgery they did and what complications they have had, etc.

Welcome and I'm excited for you to join us on this journey to health!
Duodenal Switch hybrid due to complications.
