Surgery dates before approval

I don't know if my doctor is Mr .make it happen or if that's his procedure..but, They gave me a surgery date before they submitted my info to the insurance company for approval....this was last week so now I'm waiting.....Has any one else have this done to them ?

Mine did that as well...I was told they have to give a date for insurance...but they stopped telling the patients that date.  For example, my date was last november. I had done everything to get ready with work, got my magic bullet, and then was denied.

I was totally hysterical...and now..here I am, still fighting insurance. 

Hate to say it. I have a surgery date schedule for Valentines day and the day before my surgery date I got the denial also. I am just beginning the journey again through a new insurance company and they do not schedule a surgery date until they receive an approval. Good luck!!

I had the same situation.. I had my date be4 surgery sept 9th. Its a preliminary date pending approval from the insurance. I got that approval and my date is still sept 9th. so it depends on your insurance and how well your baratric program knows the insurance company requirements. my program has delt with UHC PPO many many times so they new exactly what was required.

My surgeon will not give me a date until my insurance company approves for the reasons mentioned above. I saw how distraught someone can be from a support group I went to.
A date was given prior to surgery and less than a week before the surgery their insurance
company denied this person. I am happy my surgeon did this I am already anxious enough waiting for him to submit my packet. I will find out for sure on the 26th what his plans are since I have completed everything the insurance requires.
