anthem bcbs of new york

hi everyone
i live in illinois, and my insurance is anthem bcbs of new york, my realize band is covered ,i have to do the 6 month diet which i have done. i am just wondering how easy it is to get an approval
and if anyone has had any issues with them

Wildheart you post is confusing.   You have Anthem BCBS does your policy cover weight loss surgery?  Have you checked with them?   If both answers are yes then Anthem has 30 to 60 days from reciept of the request to review and make approval or denial based on medical necessity

I DIDN'T THINK MY POST WAS CONFUSING AT ALL, I CK'D MY INSURANCE AND THEY COVER THE REALIZE BAN AND I HAD TO DO A 6 MONTH SUPERVISED DIET WHICH I DID..I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD ANY IDEA AS TO HOW LONG IT TAKES TO GET THE APPROVAL OR DENIAL....FROM THE FIRST REQUEST. I WORK IN THE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT OF AN ONCOLOGY OFFICE ,I DO MEDICARE BILLING AS WELL AS OTHER INSURANCES....SO I KNOW ABOUT ALL OF THE ISSUES THAT CAN ARISE. IT WAS JUST A QUESTION FOR ANYONE WHO HAS  HAD TO DEAL WITH THEM.
