OH MY GOD!!!

I think I might have just been approved. If anyone can give me feedback on this, it would
be greatly appreciated.

I had the hardest time getting my surgeons office to coordinate with the insurance co and get the info sent, but yesterday the rep from the surgeons office called the insurance co (Anthem Blue Access) and finally found someone that she could fax the info to.  They said as of yesterday at noon that they would have an answer in 24 hours. I didn't hear anything today and the reps told me that they couldn't find anything in the system, so tonight I get home, check the mail and see a notice from Anthem saying I was preapproved for a procedure in another state, well, I was confused and went onto the Anthem site and logged in to MyAnthem, then I clicked the MyClaims tab, then I clicked Authorizations and referrels and saw the crazy approval from Kentucky, then I saw another entry dated today that said Approved from St. Francis Hospital and had the service dates of August 26-28.  I know this may be a redundant question, but this is an approval, right?

I'm almost afraid to hope because I've been on this journey for over a year and was fully expecting that they would make me jump through more hoops or just deny me to see if I would appeal it.

If you've made it this far through this half-frantic, half-estatic post, thank you and if any of you have gotten approvals through Blue Access, could you tell me if this was the info you saw on your site?

Well, did you submit approval for any other procedure?

Congrats! (I hope!)

Nope, no other submissions that should've been approved today.  But after being denied last year and then switching jobs a few months later and having to wait a few more months for insurance, then having to restart the 6 month diet to coordinate with my year anniversary at my job so that I would be eligible for FMLA, I was starting to think that I would never read the words approved.  I am just in more shock than I know how to describe.  I guess that is the only benefit of being a glass half-empty person is that when something does go my way, it floors me.  My job is probably not going to like the surgery date because alot of people are taking off the week after my surgery, but I don't want to have her reschedule it and risk having it denied.  So I will work out a solution.  I am just so beyond happy.  I think it will really sink in when I finally here Nancy at the surgeons office give me a date.

The date they listed may NOT be your actual surgery date.  A lot of times they give a dummy date just to get it approved and then after they get the approval they go ahead and get you on the schedule.  (That's how it was for me.)

Good Luck!
