Carefirst BCBS of Maryland?

I contacted them and they said this had to be preauthorized, meaning the surgeon had to submit his stuff and they would decide if they approve it...I am trying to have the VSG surgery done but I am trying to find out what they require as far as like proof of weight loss tries, I have been told they accept Weigh****chers and places like Jenny Craig but then someone else just told me that maybe all this needs to be under the supervision of my PCP, how can I find out exactly what I need to do??? I have my first consult with the surgeon on tuesday july 22, should I ask him? I am so confused my head is spinning!

I know that with my ins I have to have my 6 months medically supervised. What you need to do is call your Ins and request for them to send you the information on WLS so that way you will have everything you need and take the paper work into the surgeons office and give it to the one that submits to ins for approval so that way they know what is required of them.  Skye
