im sry that im always asking insurance questions, i just dont kno what to do.....i have spoken to the coordination department,the resolution specialist,and customer service no body can tell me anything....i dnt even know y im being denied we got everthing straighten out that the surgery is covered if im morbidly obese.....well i meet that criteria but denied b/c of an exclusion that they kn o is not there....so y havent they over turned that decision like they said they would.....why is it that no body there knows anything? is there any advice on who to speak to or what to do...i really cant afford a lawyer or to self pay.
As far as I learned by reading the boards... when a insurance company says there is an "exclusion", is because your employer chose not to cover WLS for their employees to reduce the costs. Therefore, technically, it is not the insurance company's fault. If the insurance company is not giving you a good explanation, I would try talking to your HR department... if there is no exclusion, your employer should have a detail explanation of the benefits that will help you determine what went wrong. I hope your plan really does not have an exclusion, because if it does, its almost impossible to get coverage. Also, make sure you get in writing the reason for your denial. Good luck!
