My insurance requires a 6 month medically supervised diet.  My question is can it be a combined 6 months from two different Doctor's?  I have 2 months from one Dr. and 4 months from another Dr.  All in consecutive order.

it's my understanding that it must be 6 consecutive months of a supervised diet by only 1 doctor.  I had that same problem when i moved from california to georgia.  But then again, it all depends on your insurance carrier.  Call and ask questions.  GOOD LUCK TO YOU...

Thank you so much for your response.  I will call and check with them.  It is like pulling teeth trying to get information from them.  Thanks again for your help :)

To my knowledge for all insurance companies it must must be consecutive or it just looks like something for them to use to deny you! Good luck!

Hi -  I have CareFirst BCBS.  My insurance states I need 6 consecutive months within the a last 2 years or 3 consuctive months from source and another 3 consective months from another source. I would call BCBS because it all depends on what your employer negotiated. Good luck! Iman

Thank you Iman,  I think they will accept what I have for now.  My Dr. plans on sending my information in this week.  So I hope it all works out.  Thanks again for your response.
