My insurance has an exclusion for weight loss surgery as well as the complications of such procedures.  Coventry Health Care of Louisiana.   My Surgeon, who is a pioneer of weight loss surgery and not the original rny Surgeon, says my surgery is medically necessary.  I have had successful weight loss.  I am a size 12 but my pouch is 500cc instead of the 30cc it started out at.  This has caused me chronic burping and belching almost constantly.  I have reflux and am awakened with a need of immediate regurgitation.  It comes from nowhere.  I am miserable. Do you think  that they will stick to their guns or because it is SEVEN YEARS after the surgery it will consider it a medical necessity.  Either way I have to have it done.  I hate to think that my husband pays thousands of dollars a year for this insurance and we aren't able to use it.   Please reply if you have any knowledge concerning this.
