anyone know about Harvard Pilgrim HMO?

I've spoken to Harvard Pilgrim HMO twice to try to get a definitive answer on what they specifically require to be eligible for WLS.  The first time I was only told that in NH they require you have the surgery done at an aproved Center of Excellence( list is on their website). Couldn't get any more detail.  next time I called I was inquiring about other coverage and then asked about specific requirements for WLS eligibility.  This time they readily answered all my other non WLS questions about coverage but said, "we can't discuss that (WLS criteria) over the phone."  She is suposed to send me written information in the mail.   WHile I wait on the mail, does anyone else have any experience with them?  I have a BMI of 36.8 and co-mos of HTN and hyperlipidemia.  Any insights would be appreciated. ~Donna

I have heard from reading these boards, that Harvard Pilgrim is one of the great insurance companies who usually approve the surgery if you have been referred by your PCP.

I heard they are good,  too.  But so far I can't get them to communicate and real info to me.  I've got some phone numbers and names to try tomorrow.  Wish me luck! ~Donna
