X-post: how long does approval take for Wis. Medicaid/Badgercare?

My last nut visit is June 23, anyone know how long approval takes with Wisconsin Medicaid/Badgercare?  I have Compcare as my HMO.

Are you having RNY or lapband? I have Compcare Badgercare too..

I am having RNY, this is the only procedure my surgeon does.  How about you?  What are you having?  How far along are you in the process?  I used to live in Superior back in 1981-82 when I was going to school up there!

I just started the process to have the DS done. I was going to have the RNY but I researched the DS and liked that better. I found a surgeon in Minneapolis and have a meeting with him next week. So I am hoping it goes well and I am trying to convince CompCare to pay for it.

I wish you good luck getting your DS.  Have you already spoken to anyone from Compcare.  I haven't.  All my info. will be sent in after my last nut. visit in two weeks.  Do you think they will cover a surgery in Minnesota?  I thought they might only cover medical services out of the state in a emergency but I'm not sure.

I think I should call and ask. I hope they would allow it. If they dont. I would have to travel about 6 hours to a hospital that does. I hope all goes well with your surgery!!
