BCBS of Illinois employed @UPS

My husband works for UPS. Our ins. is through BCBS. But we have to also deal  with Central States which is something through Teamsters.  I hoping some one can help me that understands this.  Central States says that they cover no WLS at all. In fact they wont even cover anything dealing with weight loss. I would like to know if I have the right to at least plea my case. And how do I go about doing something like this.

I am dealing with this very issue at my office right now. One of my patients is in this same sitution. The very kind lady at BCBS told me they have NEVER covered it, even though many have requested surgery. The most you can do is submit for approval. Unfortunately they do not have to pay for WLS, even if you are in terrible health. If they will not pay you will have to make other arrangements. It sucks but it's worth it. Instead of buying a new car, I bought WLS in 2005 and it's almost paid for. AND IT WASWORTH EVERY PENNY AND THEN SOME......I will give up having a new car for the rest of my life if it will keep me this happy and heathy! Funny how some people buy 50K Hummers but freak out about payoing 20K for WLS! Good luck! Bonnie
