TriCare Prime Update

On March 28, 2008 I was denied by tricare., only to be told I have arthritis in my bad and knee and to make matters worst I just found out I have type 2 diabetes.  I just sent in my appeal letter today and my Dr. sent in a letter strongly suggesting the reconsider their denial.

What was their reasoning for denial?  I know they are really picky about you meeting the crieria for weight.  But, they are also know to deny it if the form is not filled out correctly or if you are misssing something.

They said I didn't meet the requirement I have a BmI of 36.8 and acid reflux.  I have also gained another 5lbs after the referral was sent in.

You know I can relate.  I found out all these things I had just prior to surgery , including type 2, only to get denied.  Then you are left denied, hopeless and now aware you are far sicker than you thought.  Its awful isn't it!  I wish I would have talked to you before you did your appeal.  I won my appeal and did not have proof of their BMI requirements.  It was a very very good letter.  They denied me a first time and that was after my doctor pleaded my case!
