Update on the insurance front

My nutritionist worked very fast and she got my letter to the surgeon's office the same day.  She is the best!  The surgeon submitted my additonal paperwork. I heard back yesterday from the surgeon and the insurance company.  I have been denied.  But it is not a denial that I have to appeal.  They are just wanting further testing.  I have a history of peripartum cardiomyopathy.  I was dx after I had my son in 03.  I was 23 at the time.  I was released from cardio in 05 with normal function of the heart.  I put this on ALL my medical forms.  They cordinator acted like it wasn't on there.  But I degress.  I was expecting to have a cardiac clearance.  And that is what the insurance wants for me to get before approval. Also, I have asthma. It is very mild and I don't even take meds.  It poses no problems for me nor have I been hospitalized.  I knew my surgeons office does send you to see a pulmanry specialist before surgery.  But they want me to get a clearance for that as well.  No biggie.  So as soon as I get this stuff in, it sounds like they will give me my approval. I see the cardiologist next Thursday.  I also go in for pulmanry testing as well the same day.  Then I follow up with the pulmonary specialist on April 7th. Hey this may be one less pre op thing I have to do. So keep the positive thoughts and prayers!!

You'll be fine. Sounds like you have an insurer that might actually care about their clients! Seems as though they want to make sure you are not at risk for complications, for your benefit and theirs. Good luck! Bonnie
