COBRA?

I have full time insurance through Home Depot and am waiting for my surgeon to submit my info to insurance for approval. Everything that I need to get done is done. I have done all of my tests, blood work, and 6 month diet. So, I'm just playing the waiting game.    However, in the meantime, we're moving. We're moving 3 hours away and that store can only take me as part time. We're supposed to be out of our house by the 15th of next month. What are my options with insurance? The part time insurance does not cover wls. Do I qualify for COBRA? Would I be better off just quitting or can I get it by working there part time? I need some advice. What do I do? Do you think it would be a better choice to try and stay with family while we wait? Help! :)

If part time doesn't cover it, you sound like you'd be better off with COBRA

I agree with Gary, however understand COBRA is high, I can tell you that.  I am paying COBRA and for I and my hubby its 1500.00 per month.  can  you say ouch.  So way the odds but if part-time doesnt cover WLS  something to think about but not worry about.. Vicki

Well I know that you're eligible to get cobra if your hours are cut. Well, the store I'm transferring to can't take me as full time so I think I'd be eligible based on that. When I was on LOA, I had to pay Cobra and for 2 1/2 months the insurance was $900. I wouldn't need to keep it too long, only a month or two.
