montana patient or anyone else a little aetna help!!!!!

 I have been trying to do the 6 mnth route, and found out my pcp was not on board like I thought he was. Today I started again to go the 3 mnth route. My question is did you have to have the psych testing done to get approved? I thought with Aetna this was a requirement. If not I may be close to being done. I have aetna and it is a requirement. I did not go thru my regular physician. I went through local Bariatic center. That had all the things I needed to get approved.

For the 3 month surgical prepatory program--make sure it is 90 days or it will get denied! I have had that experience twice with my patients.  Also you need to have your nut eval, surgery prep completion letter from the doc saying something like "she has exhausted all non surgical options, I recommend proceeding with surgery" and make sure your diet, exercise and behavior modification is addressed in each monthly visit. In my experience Aetna has been more picky with the 3 month pre-d's I send than the 6 month ones. Good luck! Bonnie lap rny 264/155
