I've dealt with them and it wasn't that bad!
I can tell you that your 6 month diet must not be with the bariatric surgeon's office and it must equal 180 days! I am appealing one who's six month diet is six monthly visits but is only 167 days and they denied it! So be careful!
Other than that, response time was pretty quick and they have been easy to deal with but they are NOT flexible. So follow your criteria to a "T"!
Good luck!

I also have BCBSIL my 6 month diet, was with a dietician affiliated with the surgeons office, I had no problem with that. I did however get denied for not being on a "very" low calorie diet. Since I had only lost 5 pounds total, what they had said was evidenced by lack of substantial weight loss. Anyway, it was appealed and I was approved. The approval took less than 3 weeks. I did call after a few days on the original filing to make sure they had everything, and they did not so I made sure what they needed was supplied to them. Good Luck!!

Thank you so much for the information. I have six months on weigh****chers with just my weekly check in chart with my weight recorded. I also have 2 co morb. , along with everything else they ask for , I just wasnt sure exactly what I needed for the 6month to show because of the "medically surpervised" Thanks
You have to have 6 months supervised by your doctor going in month after month and the dr documenting that you discussed weight loss and to do this and that etc.....BC BS of Illiniois would not accept my WW records. Then after I had the 6 months they denied me, i appealed they denied again, i took out my employers insurance Great West as I had BC free from my hubby's work and Great West approved me the next day.
