I almost gave up, but just got the ins. approval!

I have gotten the complete run around for 3 months now. I never could get my insurance to tell me their requirements for WLS. I kept receiving generic letters stating that "it didn't appear WLS was covered by my policy" although my policy specifically states medical neccessity for morbid obesity is covered. I got the run around when I'd call and ask specific questions - no one seemed to know anything. My surgeon's office submitted the claim October 12 and finally January 15th - after minimal correspondence from the insurance company I got my pre-certification! Don't give up! Cover you bases and make certain you have a paper trail that demonstrates attempts to lose the weight! Mine finally paid off and I empathize with everyone out there trying to work their way through the insurance process! Kim
