i just went from trcare prime to tricare standard to get around a 10 month waiting list at the local mtf. i have my surgical consu;tation with my doc in a few weeks and am expected to pay all co-pays at that time. is there anything i should be careful of? has anyone experienced post surgery billing nightnmares using tricare? please let me know - thanks

I have Tricare Prime, TriWest, I did not have any co pays. In fact I only had an $9.00 out of pocket expense, that was for a RX that the Pharmacy on base did not stock.

the only thing that my friend had to pay for the surgery was I believe 350.00 the day of surgery...that was it.  other than that it was the copays for the dr's visits.  Why are you going to an MTF yet switched to standard?  why wouldn't you stay prime if you are staying at an MTF?
