Hey gang, I wanted to come back and let everyone know that I was finally approved by United Healthcare... I told everyone my story back in May 2007 when I was denied because according to UH I didn't have 5year weight history, my weight wasn't over 40BMI in 2003 so they told me to try again in 2008. I appealled and was denied again. So I waited until this pass Nov. to re-apply with my new surgeon 30 days later I was approved. Yeepee! RNY scheduled for Jan. 8, 2008.

I'm scheduled for my DS on January 10 so we'll be very close with surgery dates.

congrats! I have been switched to UHC and I called them today and was told 35+ BMI but nothing was said about # of years at 35+ BMI. Very interesting. So this may not be as simple as I was lead to believe today (with UHC rep).
