BCBS IL PPO and Psych Eval
BCBSIL PPO covers the psych eval, if it is in network. My psych guy was in network but did his evals for the surgeon in the surgeon's office, and he did not want to file the claim, so I had to pay in full up front, and then get reimbursed. Reimbursment with BCBSIL is extremely difficult, as is getting an ok for the surgery in the first place. I was told, though, that it is very rare for a psych dr. to not file their own insurance. I would imagine that you will need to pay the co-pay only. Please see the post I made a few days ago regarding getting BCBSIL to cover this proceedure. I had a very difficult time getting the ok for this surgery, and only got coverage after filing a complaint with the insurance commission. (Which was actually a simple form on-line) I also discovered that you will get a different customer specialist every time you call the BCBSIL number, and each one will not seem to know what is going on with your file. You need to get familiar with a customer specialist, and ask for him/her by name every time you call. I use TIA, and she is GREAT...Has been very helpful to me! Robyn
