Anyone have luck getting the gastric sleeve covered by BC of California?

or any referrals to an attorney or other specialist that could help to get it done? Thanks, Theresa

From my understanding, CA has the best external appeals process than another other state in the US.  I know there's a lady on the DS forum who is very knowledgeable.  Her name is Diane.  With that being said, I'd also recommend Gary Visco who's got a couple of posts at the top of this insurance forum.  I think he has a 90% approval for appeals.  He's also very reasonably priced ($450 for a first appeal).  I wouldn't hesitate to contact him.  I almost used him for my first submission but my surgeon's office was confident of approval so I decided to used him should I be denied.  I contacted him and he personally emailed me back saying he would take on my case for a denial.  Luckily, I was approved quickly so I didn't need to use him.  However, just from what little contact I did have, he seemed perfect for those of us dealing with insurances, denials and obesity.
