United Healthcare - Approved

Approved thru United Healthcare in 2 weeks....only suggestion I would give is to make sure you call and follow up with them...paperwork went to the wrong dept twice!!

congratulations! I have UHC but we have an exclusion for WLS regardless of medical nessecity   Do you know if you had an exclusion wiht your policy and if so how did you get approved? Melanie

Sorry you're going through that. No, we didn't have an exclusion for WLS. It was covered as long as it was considered medically necessary.  Good Luck

Do you mind me asking what surgery you're having? I have UHC as well and was denied for VSG.  I appealed and that was denied too. Thanks for the info. Jo

I'm having the lap band. I heard about alot of people denied the VSG because UH considers it still to be experimental.  I think that's ridiculous but you know how these insurance companies can be.
