Has anyone on here managed to get an approval without a co-morbidity? I have a BMI over 40, but so far (thankfully) none of the disease that tends to come with obesity. I have lost and gained weight so many times that I just can't bear the thought of going through it and failing again. I believe the surgery could really help me make a lasting change but don't want to waste my time if there is no hope. Testimonials of success with similar situations would be great... anyone with PacifiCare (A United Healthcare Company) whose managed to do this even better! Thanks for your help! ~Lisa

Do you think that with BCBS of IL  high triglycerides and low (good cholesterol) would be co morbidities?  tha'ts about all I have/had documented at all. Thanks

Thank you so much Paul.  You are very helpful! I have never been on meds for it before I just know that they always use the "lose weight" and "watch what you eat" tactic.  Well we can see how well that works huh?  lol I am on month 4 of my medically supervised diet with a nutritionist that works with BCBS IL patients all the time, so she's documenting everything!!
