BC/BS PPO of IL

How has everyones experience been with BC/BS PPO of IL? I am going for a revision from lap band to VSG.... What type of loops did they make you jump through? Thanks!

Hi, all I can say is good luck to you. My file was submitted for the RNY and I was given the run around, and finally arfter claiming they needed this or that, which everything but one was in the file, I was denied. Denied because the diet I was on was not low enough in calories. It was a Dr supervised diet, imagine that.

Be prepared! Have EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING covered! They deny for the wind blowing east when they sayit has to blow west. Kidding-but honestly they have a stamp with deny on it and ready to use it! Give them no reason to deny!  I was denied for lap band and I thought I had every base covered. So be ready and Good luck.

I am going to ditto everything everyone else has said.  I was denied twice by them and after two appeals I had to go to my employeer.  My surgeon said they are the hardest ins co to get WLS covered.  Read their stipulations CAREFULLY and do everything EXACTLY to the T. Good luck, Chrissy
