My husband retired leaving me to find new health insurance, he is a vetern and covered 100% at the VA clinic. When he was working we had United heath group which paid for my surgery. I have been denied by blue cross, humana, you name it., until 5 years out. I am now 18 months out with no complications and at goal weight. I was forced to go to the HIRSP which is high risk, my premiums and deductables are very high. Does anyone know of a company thats insuring us after WLS. Seems odd that they insure the morbidly obese but not after WLS and I am so much healthier. Please help. Debra

Hey Paul thanks for the advise, I will give them a call. You and I had surgery in the same month, how are you doing? I am struggling to stay at goal weight, after losing 110 pounds in 9 months. Its amazing how the appetite and those nasty cravings comes back isnt it? Hope your doing well and again thanks for the advise, Debra

Yes Paul your right, its alot easier looking at losing 5 pounds than 100. Just need to keep an eye on it. My problem is I dont work so keeping myself busy during the day so I dont "graze". I have a tendency to reach in the cupboard for snacky stuff when Im bored. We just built a new home and we put a gym in the basement and I "try" to go down there whenever I feel that urge to eat between meals. Thanks for your input,Debra
