missing two years
hello hope someone can give me advice. i just came from my doctor and i found out im missing my weight history for 2005 and 2006. i have aetna and they require 5 year history. i have 2002,03,04,07. i didnt go at all those two years to my pcp. i did make trips to the er. im trying to see if i can get my hands on my record to see if my weight is listed. not quite sure if i went to the er in 2005 though. the coordinator suggested that the pcp write a letter stating that i was reasonably healthy during that period and saw no need to go to the doctor. my weight was consistant at that time no loss at all so anybody have any suggestions? i have aenta and i dont know what exceptions they will make.
I am just beginning this process myself and have the same insurance as you. I am missing several years as I did not have insurance, and was reasonable healthy. I called and talked to someone in the "pre-certification" dept. at Aetna today and she said that when my dtr. sends in the info. for pre-certification...that my case will be assigned to a nurse and we may have to explain why I don't have medical records. I don't know if it will be a problem for sure or not. I don't know how they expect everyone to have 5 years of medical records with recorded weights. If you hear anything...let me know! I wish I knew how hard it was going to be to get approval.
