BCBS of IL and the DS

Anyone have experience getting BCBS of IL to cover the DS? I just sent in 286 pages of my 2nd level appeal and it would be nice to hear of somebody, ANYBODY, that got them to overturn their denial. BTW, my husband's cousin was approved in 1 day for the rny with this insurance company. So for those of you out their wondering what you have to do to get approved, who knows? She was fully prepared to get denied and appeal. Even her surgeon's office was floored. It's just a crapshoot with them.

Lap Band on 01/10/08

I am also fighting BC/BS of IL for approval of my Lap-Band surgery request. :( Just wanted to offer you Good Luck!!

DS on 04/04/08

Thank you! Same to you! You WILL get approved. They do cover the lapband. They may try and give you the runaround the first time around, but ultimately they have to pay if you have done all of their hoop jumping. Stay strong!!
