Aetna HMO has approved me......

after I appealed of course. My appeal was faxed/mailed on October 11th and I recieved a letter in the mail yesterday dated October 15th. WOW!! I am in shock that it took obviously a day or two minus the weekend to turn thier decision around. I was about to give up and join Slim 4 Life, I went to Slim 4 Life's consultation on 10/18 and on 10/20 was about to put my money down and join, I am so glad that I didnt because that would have been money that I probably wouldnt have got back! Thank God I checked my mailbox on 10/19!!!!!!!!   Monica

congrats... why did they deny you the first time and what made them change there mind? i am wondering my doc will be submitting everything soon and i am soo worried about being denied.

Im in the same boat, my Dr. wiil be submitting my paper work end of the month. Im afraid they are going to deny me too. Ill tell you like everyone else has told me, im sure everything will be fine.

The first time they needed my five year weight loss history and some more stuff documentating my physician weight loss history. They changed thier mind I think because my appeal letter was very very detailed and since I am a coder, I included codes with all my diagnoses and I included illustrations that I printed off online, "basically drawing them a picture per se"  of some of my diagnoses that I have.
